Black Thought, is an American hip-hop artist who is the lead MC of the Philadelphia-based hip hop group The Roots and occasional actor. Thought, who co-founded The Roots with drummer Questlove (Ahmir Thompson), is widely lauded for his complex and politically aware lyrical content, and his sharply honed live performances.

Reef The Lost Cauze

Reef The Lost Cauze is a prominent underground hip hop artist based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Reef became well known on the underground circuit towards the late 1990s and more so in the early 2000s, making his mark by winning many battle competitions within New York and interstate and displaying rare skills of what many called true MCing. Releasing The High Life album in 2001, Cauze moved on by teaming up with his past partners and friends and released The Invisible Empire in 2003 to much critical acclaim and thus establishing his name amongst many circles and true hip hop heads, as well as the underground. Feast or Famine was released in 2005 again to positive critical reception, as well as his side project, The Torture Papers, being part of the rap/hip-hop supergroup Army of the Pharaohs in 2006.

Mic Stew

Mic Stewart is a nationally respected freestyle artist, and
was crowned the 2012 Red Bull Emsee National Freestyle Champion.
Mic recently finished recording a major label single via
Red Bull Studios with platinum recording engineer Eric Stenman
and hip hop production duo THC. An explosive live performer, he
has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in music,
including Big K.R.I.T, Black Thought, ?uestlove and Raekwon.
This spring he is set to independently release his debut album,
PEACEWORLD, which features his most powerful songwriting
and lyricism to date.

Rowboat Casino

Rowboat Casino is the Philadelphia based brain-child of former Spanish Blue front man, Sib (Ryan Cybulski), noted for his powerful and diverse delivery of thought provoking lyrics spanning personal, spiritual, and social matters through precise wordplay. RC currently features a live rhythm section of Dee Miller (Puffy) and Derek Gallagher (Dar) from Da Rezarekt on bass and drums, respectively. Guitar and additional vocals are provided by talented Philly singer/songwriter Justin Phillippi. ‘The Boat’ has used several live DJs since it's beginning in 2012, most notably DJ Too Tuff (Tuff Crew), and will be accompanied for their February 28th show at The Blockley by Art Fanega (Cuebik), along with another former Spanish Blue member, Hayden Wright, on saxophone. The project currently boasts production from Logikbombs (Mike Ciametti) and Rob Conway (Dark Platoon).
Only a year in the making, Rowboat Casino has already shared the stage with Black Thought, J.Period, and Reef the Lost Cauze, and will be playing with legendary Wu-Tang member Raekwon the Chef later this month. Aside from larger venues, The Boat can be seen every 3 or 4 months at The Grape Room in Manayunk. Winter 2013 will debut the release of two singles, "Flamethrower" and "Test," the first of which will be accompanied by video debuted at their upcoming April 6 show at The Grape Room (Phila). Sib is currently working with producer Sling Raw (Keith Miletto) on their forth-coming EP "Boat Drinks and Un-cut Raw" which should drop around Spring 2013 just in time for the summer. Most of the current material is available for free download on the project's website (www.rowboatcasino.com). Sib also organizes a monthly Hip-hop open mic event, The Roll Up, at The Grape Room in Manayunk the first Thursday of every month.
